The Satyanarayana Vrat Katha is detailed in the Skanda Purana. It consists of five chapters demonstrating the power of keeping vows and sticking to Truth (Satya). The stories involve a poor Brahmin, a woodcutter, King Tungadhwaja, and the merchant Sadhu Baniya. In each story, those who performed the Puja with pure devotion and shared the prasad with all recovered their lost fortunes, cured their diseases, and attained peace. Those who scoffed at the prasad or broke their promises faced hardships until they repented. It highlights that the ultimate worship of God is being truthful in life.
