PUJA MANTRA
श्री राम राम रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे। सहस्रनाम तत्तुल्यं रामनाम वरानने॥
Chanting the name of Rama three times is equal to reciting the entire Vishnu Sahasranama.

Clean the altar, place a picture or idol of baby Rama (Ram Lalla) in a cradle.
Decorate the space with flowers and light a ghee lamp.
Perform Puja during the midday (Madhyahna) when Rama was born.
Offer saffron rice, panjiri, fruits, and special sweets as Prasadam.
Chant Ram Raksha Stotra or read chapters from Ramayana.

Lord Rama was born in Ayodhya to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya on Navami Tithi. King Dasharatha had performed a special sacrifice (Putrakameshti Yajna) to get children. Lord Vishnu chose to incarnate to defeat the demon king Ravana, who had attained boons making him invincible to gods, but vulnerable to humans. Rama's life as "Maryada Purushottama" teaches the value of duty towards parents, brothers, and society.
