Observe a fast throughout the day, chanting names of Lord Krishna.
Decorate the home temple and place infant Krishna (Laddu Gopal) in a swing (Jhula).
At midnight, perform Abhishekam with milk, curd, honey, and gangajal.
Dress the deity in new yellow clothes (Pitambara) and offer peacock feather (Mor Pankh).
Offer Makhan-Mishri and Panchamrit as Bhog and gently swing the cradle.

Lord Krishna was born in the dark prison cell of King Kamsa in Mathura to Devaki and Vasudeva. To protect the divine newborn from the tyrant Kamsa, Vasudeva miraculously crossed the flooding Yamuna River in the stormy night and delivered infant Krishna safely to Nanda and Yashoda in Gokul.
