auto_storiesSacred Story & Significance
The prime legend of Diwali marks the return of Lord Rama, Mata Sita, and Lakshmana to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and defeating the demon king Ravana. The citizens of Ayodhya decorated the entire city and lit rows of oil lamps to welcome them. Another significant legend is the manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi during the churning of the cosmic ocean (Samudra Manthan) on Kartik Amavasya, making it the supreme night for Lakshmi Puja.
